Multigas Ltd. has been awarded the Engineering Excellence Award in Water and Sustainability 2025 for its pioneering upgrade of the Aspen 1000 Plant cooling system.

The solution is built around three key engineering innovations:

Smart Adiabatic Cooling
Using variable-speed fans and automated water activation, the system continuously adapts to real-time environmental conditions. It operates mainly in dry mode and only uses water when required, ensuring efficient cooling with minimal resource use.

High-Performance Closed-Loop Pumping
Advanced pump control technology regulates water circulation based on precise temperature differentials, enabling consistently high operating efficiency and stable performance across varying load conditions.

Integrated Water Recovery System
Water that is not evaporated during the cooling process is captured, treated, and reused within the system, significantly reducing reliance on freshwater supplies.

Delivering measurable sustainability benefits

The upgraded system achieves a reduction in both water consumption and energy use, while also improving operational reliability and environmental performance. Compared to the previous cooling configuration, the new solution provides a more efficient, resilient, and future-ready infrastructure.

Beyond operational improvements, the project delivers important health and environmental advantages. By removing the presence of stagnant water, the system eliminates the risk of Legionella, enhancing workplace safety and contributing to wider public health protection. Reduced wastewater discharge further supports national efforts to manage and preserve critical water resources.
